What an honor it was to capture these family portraits at Balboa Park! These sisters don’t get together every day, with one family in San Diego and the other in the Bay Area, so we made the most of the occasion with a photo session to create some beautiful, surprise holiday presents for their parents. Each of the little dolls in the photos below added their own special contribution to the photo shoot! I couldn’t get enough of Taylor’s long eyelashes and lady-killer smile, or Astrid’s big, beautiful eyes. And Avery is one 2 1/2 year old who knows what she wants! Sometimes that was laughing and running in the other direction (which made for a sweet sequence featured here) but mostly she wanted to look for the nearby roaming kitty and make sure to stand on the purple (not blue!) square. What a beautiful family and a beautiful day!

When nap time approached, and that fantastic smile started to fade, mom and dad pulled out all of their tricks to keep Simone in the game. Judging by the images of grin after great grin, I would say the effort paid off!
