Chantung 1st birthday

Another little monkey just turned 1 this month!  You might recognize this family from their gorgeous wedding and newborn images that I have done in the past years.  I love photographing couples’ weddings and then watching their family start and grow!

We had another ridiculously fun and lovely session with this little cherub with the many faces.  I just love love love all of her expressions!  Alana had so much fun playing with rocks, running around the park, and smashing her cupcake for us!  Dad pulled out his smart phone halfway through the session to show us how Alana LOVES to rock out to her favorite song “What I am” by Will I Am – Sesame Street (click the link! It is so catchy!). And how adorable is that pink teddy bear she was dancing with?

Happy First Birthday Alana!

What a fun, lively family this is!  Mom called me letting me know she needed a session right away because they were moving (after the session) to Oregon!  They made the big move to be closer to family, and although they said they would miss the beach I’m sure these boys are going to keep their relatives in stitches!  I’ve been getting a lot of monkeys lately, and these two were no exception :)

We did a lot of running around, jumping, climbing, splashing, and smiling with this session.  Thank you Klein family for the fun session! I really enjoyed meeting your two little monkeys and hope your move went well.  Enjoy!

Kerianne + Henry | San Diego Wedding Photographer

We love weddings, and we were so honored to be with a couple as amazing as Kerianne and Grant!

Around here, there is NOTHING we like more than choosing wedding images to blog, and this wedding made it hard, as we loved so many!  One of the images that made us gasp was taken by my amazing second photographer, Emily.  She caught Henry watching Kerianne walk down the aisle, and when we zoomed in really close - well, you may notice the tear in his eye.  So sweet!! He was choked up for good reason – Kerianne was so absolutely stunning!

We started out at the gorgeous US Grant Hotel, and then headed to the Admiral Kidd Club for the ceremony overlooking the water.  Just before we left, Henry asked if we could take a photo of them in front of the low moon overlooking the city skyline.  It was already really dark by then so we were limited with what we could do, but below is the image Marlo was able to capture.  Love!

These past few days, we all have to admit that we’ve been getting a little jealous of their Maui honeymoon photos that they’ve been posting. Hope you two had a wonderful time and enjoy your sneak peek!! Congratulations again and again!

Vanetsky Family | San Diego Portrait Photographer

Meet the Vanetskys!

Marsha is a dear friend of mine from our biotech days at Amgen, and though we are practically neighbors in San Diego, I still don’t see her and her husband that often because of all their exotic traveling. We set out for a local golf course when her whole family was in town, and had a fun time driving golf carts around from spot to spot that evening!

I have photographed her grandson Sam, when I first started my business, as a 2-year-old who ran around a playground dodging eye contact. Now he is a grown up pro in front of the camera, and I almost didn’t recognize him! His younger brother, Max, brought back all the memories of that day in the playground, though. His dad had to be on Max chasing duty from the get-go, that little monkey!  With one son’s family from Albuquerque, Marsha’s gracious daughter Aly, and younger brother Jacob keeping us all laughing, I felt totally honored to be covered in Vanetsky charm!

It was such a pleasure meeting the whole clan finally!
